\n\u2022 Minutes from 1\/15\/24 accepted (Gail motioned; Lisa carried)
\nTreasurer Report:
\n\u2022 Christine is still getting acclimated with the books and budget. She will print another document for profit\/loss information in two-month intervals for the remainder of the year.
\n\u2022 Christine now has a lock box key to drop off paperwork.
\n\u2022 Christine will share out the 2024 budget via email.
\n\u2022 Quickbooks has a module to print payroll checks that is cheaper or she can use an excel spreadsheet. The board approves Christine to use quickbooks, but first we need to check if there is a fee with paychex that we need to fulfill.<\/p>\n
Old Business:
\n\u2022 Khan Family Estate: Could some money be used for the SRP as her grant was denied? The board advised to check with Arts and Ed funds and then the Khan fund could be used.
\n\u2022 Library Sign: Gail spoke with Kelly Joe-Hunink from Robbins Signs and she will come out to look at the sign and get back to her. Custom Fabrications quote was too high. Jenn mentioned using the Whitney Titus Fund to help with this cost. Jenn will look into the date to apply for this fund.
\n\u2022 Motion Lights: 88Bc said we need to find a contractor. Jenn will reach out to an electrician to get a quote.
\n\u2022 Library Clerk Substitute: Still reaching out to potential substitutes from the community. The board discussed names, but could not remember who they are. Clerks have someone in mind.<\/p>\n
Director\u2019s report:
\n\u2022 Assemblyman Angelo: Met on 2\/2. Jenn reports that it was a nice meeting and he is supportive of funding for libraries.
\n\u2022 Rotary Grant Meeting: Meeting on 2\/7. They met to follow up on the grant from the past year.
\n\u2022 Annual Report: submitted!
\n\u2022 Weeding Books: Staff would like extra time to weed out old books to make space for new books. Will make a pile for \u201cfree books\u201d for patrons. The board approved the extra time.
\n\u2022 Round Table: donate to school or church?
\n\u2022 Upcoming Events: March Events: Intro to Libby, Art Club, Book Club. Tech talk added in April. These events are going well.
\n\u2022 Board Member Terms: Lisa and April may need to resign the oath of Office forms (due to dates of board members joining\/resigning). Tommy is brought up at the Town board meeting. Jenn will follow up.
\n\u2022 Service Animals: All animals are to be kept under control.. Emotional support animals are protected under ADA rights. Board asked what other 4CLS protocols are in place? Sign regarding \u201cAll owners are responsible for all actions of their animals (behavior\/injury)\u201d.
\n\u2022 Procedures Manual: Jenn will review the service manual with substitute employees.
\n\u2022 Damage book: Update the procedures manual for damaged books.
\nNew Business:
\n\u2022 Board was given new trustee handbooks from the 4CLS. The board was also given leftover reading notebooks from the 2023 reading road trip.
\n\u2022 Linda presented info on the AARP grant. The deadline to apply is March 6th, 2024.
\n\u2022 Beth shared ideas to increase children’s participation in the library. She is interested in starting an Afterschool Library Club. She would like to do a poetry program for grades 3-6. Meeting the Superintendent of HSCD on 2\/20\/24 (Transportation\/signups offered by the school?) The board agreed to this. Beth will keep us posted.
\n\u2022 Beth mentioned that even when children come to the library and check out books, they are not always returning or returning the books.
\n\u2022 Beth applied for a grant for SRP to bring a performer in and it was denied. The board suggested trying the Arts and Ed funding through the school district.
